Allan Baer

Sun City Summerlin mourns the loss of Allan Baer, one of its Board of Directors who passed away peacefully in his home on August 30. Allan retired in 1996 after careers in accounting, real estate and data processing.  He moved to Sun City in February 1999.  Before he was appointed to the SCSCAI Board of Directors, he served on his sub-association Board of Directors, as well as being a member of the SCSCAI Properties Committee, Information Technology, and the Finance Committee.  Allan was appointed to the SCSCAI Board of Directors in April 2004.  He co-chaired the Architectural Review Committee, served as Link Editorial Board Liaison, co-chaired the Finance Committee, and had chaired the Information Technology Committee since 2005.  Allan served as Vice President of the SCSCAI Board of Directors in 2006, President in 2007, and Treasurer in 2008 and 2009.  Sun City Summerlin was very fortunate to be associated with someone so dedicated to his community as Allan Baer was.  He spent many hours giving back to Sun City and his fellow residents.  In Allan’s words, “we are all very lucky to live in this bit of heaven on earth called Sun City Summerlin” and we were all very lucky to have had him as part of our community.  He will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service for Allen will be held at Desert Vista
from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 16.
